Privacy Policy

Trace · Last updated May 15, 2026

Trace is a quiet daily promise app. This policy explains what data Trace collects, stores, and shares. The short answer: almost nothing.

What Trace stores

Your traces — the small promises you write, the tags you choose, and when you complete them — are stored on your device using Apple's local database (SwiftData).

If you have iCloud enabled on your device, your traces are also stored in your personal iCloud account so they can sync across your devices. This data lives in your iCloud, not on any server Trace controls.

What Trace does not collect

Trace has no servers and runs no analytics. We do not see, read, or store the contents of your traces. We do not know how you use the app. We do not track:

— Your location

— Your name, email, or contact information

— Your device identifier

— How often you open the app

— Which features you use

— Crashes or errors

Third parties

Trace does not share data with any third party. The only services Trace touches are Apple's own — iCloud for sync (only if you've enabled it) and the App Store for in-app purchases. Apple's privacy practices govern those services. You can read Apple's privacy policy at apple.com/legal/privacy.

In-app purchases

If you purchase Trace Pro, the transaction is handled entirely by Apple. Trace receives only a confirmation that your purchase is valid. We do not see your payment details, your Apple ID, or your billing address.

Children

Trace is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone, including children.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted at this URL with a new "last updated" date. Substantial changes will also be mentioned in the app itself.
